SVDP Hosts 3rd Remembrance Tree Ceremony
On All Soul's Day, November 2, the third annual Remembrance Tree ceremony took place on seminary grounds. This memorial event, created in partnership with SVdP and the Palm Beach Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, is a beautiful way to remember departed loved ones. With the support of Babione Funeral Homes, the CCW and SVdP promoted the event across the diocese in support of both the CCW Burse Fund and the seminary. Over 60 attendees joined Bishop Gerald Barbarito for a prayerful ceremony during which a scroll with more than 1,400 names of deceased loved ones was buried beneath The Remembrance Tree, located in front of St. Vincent's chapel. A luncheon with the seminarians followed the ceremony.
Myrna Young, CCW Diocesan President, presented Bishop Barbarito with a check for $2,000 from the CCW's Burse Fund for vocations. The event was created by Marian Moran, CCW Spiritual Director of the CCW, St. Christopher's Parish in Hobe Sound. Stanton Cadow, Director of Development for SVdP, said "the dedication and work of the CCW leadership and members to support vocations and the seminary in remembrance of our departed loved ones speaks highly of their devotion to good works. God Bless the CCW."
