Position Title: Assistant Director of Development
Work Summary: Create content and manage the Office of Development’s communications and appeal programs.
Reporting Structure: The Assistant Director will report to the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Essential Functions:
Communications - Manage and create content, organize other’s content, solicit and manage ad sales, control distribution and production of Dialogue, and other publications as required. Work with department heads, vendors, contractors, faculty, seminarians, staff and other organizations to maintain departmental information in all publications. Create and manage the production and distribution of e-blasts, e-news, lead articles, monthly reflections and other necessary internet based communications for constituents and public use. Write, prepare and distribute new releases and articles pertaining to institutional affairs. Act as reporter and photographer as necessary, including special events, Masses, Ordinations and other official functions.
Assist with maintaining and growing constituent contact information, including e-mail address to facilitate donor relationship building and cultivation. Maintain an open line of communications and relationship with the outside secular and non secular press and state-wide Diocesan communications and vocation offices.
Appeals - The position will also be responsible for the creation and coordination of the annual alumni, new prospect, general, annual and lapsed donor appeals. Provide written status of appeals and campaigns as required. This includes tracking campaign progress, expenses, and related issues. This requires over sight and direction to vendors and brokers to achieve maximum results. The position requires an aggressive stewardship and donor relations program to be maintained. Major responsibilities will also be assigned to coordinating the annual Friends of the Seminary event.

Educational Requirements: B.A. degree from an accredited 4 year institution in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Development or related fields as defined by the seminary.
Work Experience: Two to four years of similar experience for a non-profit organization, preferably in a Roman Catholic setting, and/or similar work experience in the private sector.
Salary Range: Full-time position/pay commensurate with experience and qualifications.
FLSA: Exempt professional.
