Over 165 guests and friends of St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary attended Vespers and a gala reception at the Country Club of Florida in the Village of Golf community the evening of January 19th. Don Bosak of Stamford, Connecticut and Delray Beach, headed a list of area sponsors including; George & Kathy Dembroski, Jo De Roberts, John Gildea, Michelle Grubb, John & Heather Hackett, Michael & Mary Ellen Horgan, Pat Keenan, Dick & Laura McSherry, Denis Mullane, Joe & Kathy Olivella, Jack Saunders, Sherwood Sheehan, Jr., Erik & Suzanne Smith, Vince Stankay, Mary Sudnick, George & Betty Walsh and Mona Wolter.
The event presented an opportunity for guests to attended vespers on the Boynton Beach campus, and meet with over 40 seminarians, faculty. By all accounts, it turned out to be a delightful evening. Vespers included several hymns and solo’s sung by seminarians, readings and blessings. Msgr. Brennan, Rector and President, made a brief address about many changes in the formation of priests that have taken place since the 50's and 60's. Denis Mullane, a sponsors and a member of CCF, entertained the crowd with his humour, and remarked about the importance of the seminary’s mission. Special appreciation was given throughout the evening for Don Bosak and all the "Sponsors for Vocations" who made the event possible.
Other special guests in attendance included Bishop Gerald Barbarito, Diocese of Palm Beach and Bishop Dominick Lagonegro, Archdiocese New York.
