This year St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary is changing the format of our Deacon Workshop

to a three-day conference for permanent deacons. The workshop will include inspiring presentations,

intellectual stimulation, and time for prayerful recollection - all in a pleasant, peaceful environment.

Fr. Llane B. Briese, STD, a brilliant scripture scholar and a popular professor here at

St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, will delve into an exegesis of the Psalms,

shedding new light on their origins, offering new content for preaching and showing

Ruth Hayes-Barba, D.Min, a licensed counselor and adjunct professor at Mt. Angel Seminary in Oregon,

has worked with the Permanent Deacon Program in the Archdiocese of Portland for many years.

She will emphasize the beauty of the Church’s perennial, universal prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours
